The FAQ of the Insert
October 2, 2024Shipping in Canada is expensive; everybody knows it. This is not a secret, but as a business owner, my dilemma was how to overcome the problem of shipping costs, especially when they sometimes exceed the price of our hockey bag organizer, the Gardy Athletics Insert. It’s a low-priced product, and no one wants to pay more for shipping than for the item itself. So how do we prevent abandoned carts due to high shipping costs?
Our Research and Considerations
While researching solutions, we focused on a few key factors:
- Delivery to Remote Areas: Canada is vast, and some orders may need to reach the smallest and farthest settlements. We needed to ensure our solution worked for customers everywhere.
- Climate Conditions: From freezing winters to wet springs, Canadian weather can be harsh. We needed a solution that could deliver, no matter the climate.
- Customs and Paperwork: For our customers in the USA and around the world, we needed to handle all customs and paperwork efficiently to avoid delays.
- Cost: Keeping shipping costs manageable while balancing the above factors was essential.
Our Solution: Ground Shipping
To address these challenges, we opted for ground shipping with reliable, cost-effective carriers. This included using well-known companies and ground shipping providers who could handle the logistics safely and efficiently.
Ground shipping may take a little longer—what some describe as a 2-day delivery window (Tuesdays and Thursdays) may end up closer to 7 days, depending on the location, as our shipping is initiated twice a week. However, for a product like the Gardy Athletics Insert, which doesn’t require “emergency, overnight delivery,” we believe this is a sensible trade-off.
Ground shipping has proven to be a budget-friendly option that allows us to keep overall costs lower for our customers while still ensuring a reliable delivery process.
At Gardy Athletics, our goal is to make sure you get your product at a reasonable cost without compromising on quality service—even if it takes a little longer to get there.
Happy Tuesday – Shipping Day!
