The FAQ of the Insert
October 2, 2024Here we are, diving into another exciting hockey season. With practices, games and tournaments bringing those early morning and late afternoon drives, the Gardy Athletics Insert keeps the hockey bag organized, making one less thing to worry about. But when it comes to snacks, preparation is key.
Last year, I discovered the magic of Peanut Energy Balls—my go-to protein boost. They’re easy to whip up and perfect for eating on the go, especially during those long drives. I never leave the house without them!
These little bites of goodness are not only delicious but packed with protein-rich ingredients to fuel your day. No baking required, just pure flavor and energy to keep you going strong!
What do you need:
¾ cup of Oatmeal (I use quick oats). Oats are among the healthiest grains, gluten-free and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
2 scoops of Vanilla Protein Powder
¾-1 cup of Peanut Butter. Did you know that Peanut Butter is a powerhouse when it comes to its nutritional benefits? 2 tablespoons provides a fair share of protein, fibre, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, niacin and vitamin B6. Peanut Butter releases energy slowly, which keeps you going longer and controls your hunger at the same time.
2 TBSP of Hemp Hearts. They are an excellent source of healthy fats, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
2 TBSP of honey. Honey is a natural sweetener, which makes these bites refined sugar-free. Additionally honey has some surprising health benefits, such as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties
½ cup of Dark/Semi Sweet chocolate chips – simply yumi!
2 TBSP of milk
How to make it:
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Use a teaspoon to evenly collect the mixture and place in your hands. Roll tightly the small balls. This will make about 20 protein balls.
Place in a covered container and refrigerate.
Warning: The bites are so good and they are good for you, but be aware… they are also high in calories, so constrain yourself from eating the whole batch at once.
